the official name of acrylic bathtub is fiberglass reinforced plastic bathtub, English acrylic is homonym. The surface material is a methyl ester C. The thickness of the acrylic sheet before being shaped is over 3mm. The bottom side is covered with many layers of fiberglass, enhanced with specialized resin. Finished bathtubs should have an even color throughout the whole tub. The surface should be smooth, non-hierarchical, w/out any bubbles etc. The tub should be without pealing and combined with the fiberglass in a very solid manner. Because of the matreials effective reprocessing performance, the acrylic bathtubs can be molded in larger sizes than standard bathtubs.

Material Advantages

Acrylic bathtubs hold the heat better and keeps the water longer warm. The surface is not "cold" compared with cast iron bathtubs and steel bathtubs.

Measuring a Bathtub

Bathtub is often measured from tub lip to tub lip. Known as outside dimension, the dimension usually represent the maximum size of the bathtub. Bathing dimension will naturally be smaller. Each bathtub has three outside dimension: length, width, height. Length is the largest measurement (except round bathtub and square bathtub) and represents the head-to-toe measurement if you were lie down inside a bathtub. Width is generally the second dimension presented in product titles. When lying inside a bathtub, width is the shoulder-to shoulder size. The final dimension height or depth is measured from the floor to the top of the bathtub. We determine each bathtub size by mm and inch according to different clients habits.
